A loan dispute in Shymkent has ended with the approval of a settlement agreement: the defendants have undertaken to voluntarily repay a debt of 5 million tenge in cash by the end of 2026, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to the official Telegram channel of Shymkent's courts, a judicial panel for civil cases heard a civil case on appeal concerning a claim to recover debt under a loan agreement.

Earlier, a Shymkent inter-district court for civil cases partially granted the claim, ordering the defendant to pay the plaintiff 4,950,000 tenge. Disagreeing with that ruling, the defendant's side filed an appeal.

During the appellate hearing, the parties applied to have the settlement they had reached approved. Under its terms, the defendants undertake to voluntarily pay the debt of 5 million tenge in cash by the end of 2026. Once the debt is fully repaid, the plaintiff undertakes to lift the encumbrance on an apartment in Shymkent.

By a ruling of the judicial panel for civil cases, the first-instance court's decision was overturned and the parties' settlement agreement was approved. The plaintiff was refunded the state duty of 49,500 tenge. The panel's ruling has entered into force.
