Man detained in Shymkent on suspicion of beating wife in front of children

A 25-year-old resident of Turkistan Region has been detained in Shymkent on suspicion of causing bodily harm to a woman, infohub.kz reports.

The Shymkent Police Department said on Instagram that the suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. The incident occurred on the night of September 16 in Shymkent. A criminal case was opened following a complaint by the victim. The investigation is being handled by the Shymkent city police department.

Earlier, the Telegram channel Egov.Press published video showing the horrific aftermath of the beating. The footage shows a crying woman with a bloodied face. "In Shymkent, a husband brutally beat his young wife in front of their children. Moreover, he took out a loan of two million tenge in her name, and she is reportedly being threatened with reprisal. This was reported by a relative of the victim," the post said.

Recall that the detention of the man suspected of beating his wife in front of their children was reported by the city police department. A criminal case has been opened.
