Chinese President Xi Jinping will make a state visit to the United States on September 23–25, China's Foreign Ministry announced, according to infohub.kz.
According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry's website, Xi will visit the US at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
Bloomberg reports that this will be Xi's first trip to the US since 2023, when he met with former US President Joe Biden during a visit that included attending a summit in San Francisco.
The agency notes that prospects for extending the trade war truce agreed by the two sides last year in South Korea are becoming increasingly realistic, as discussions are now underway on significantly reducing tariffs on a range of goods, including American energy and agricultural products.
