In the mountainous part of the Jungar Alatau State National Nature Park, surveillance cameras recorded a herd of Siberian ibex in their natural habitat, infohub.kz reports.
According to NUR.KZ, citing the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife, the footage was captured during monitoring. The cameras recorded Siberian ibex (Capra sibirica) in their usual high-altitude conditions.
"Highlands and rocky areas are the usual environment for these animals. The Siberian ibex is well adapted to difficult mountain terrain and is an important link in the food chain of mountain ecosystems," the Committee for Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Ecology said.
The agency also noted that the footage obtained is of scientific value: the video materials help specialists study the animals' habitats, movements, and behavior.
