American investor and founder of Sofreh Capital Shervin Pishevar announced plans to open company offices in Kazakhstan, relocate his team there, and invest in the development of the country's artificial intelligence economy. He made the statement at the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 forum in Astana, according to infohub.kz.

According to the investor, the country's appeal lies in its combination of engineering talent, government support for innovation, and natural resources. He singled out the space and nuclear industries in particular.

"I want to open Sofreh Capital offices, bring my team here, and actively invest in Kazakhstan's future," Pishevar said.

The investor also cited Kazakh AI company Higgsfield as evidence of local technological potential. According to him, the company has reached $1 billion in revenue.

Pishevar confirmed his intention to open Sofreh Capital offices and relocate his team to Kazakhstan, but did not specify a timeline. It also remains unclear how much the fund plans to invest in local projects.

The investor separately noted the prospects of Kazakhstan's space industry — from launches to satellite manufacturing. According to him, the development of computing infrastructure in space could become a multi-trillion-dollar market in the future.

Thus, for now these are plans rather than a completed relocation or an announced investment project. The statement was made during the session The New Economy: Powered by AI at the AI & Digital Bridge 2026 forum.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that Bagdat Mussin said: "The entire territory of Kazakhstan could become a 'valley of data centers.'"
