A pre-trial investigation has been launched in Aktobe after an 18-year-old conscript of military unit No. 6655 of the National Guard filed a complaint alleging repeated beatings by three sergeants, reports infohub.kz.
The serviceman, Yerkebulan Dossymbet, is originally from Aktau. According to his mother, Guldana Ketibayeva, he has been serving in Aktobe since July 3, 2026.
The woman said that on September 4 she received a call from the hospital informing her that her son had been admitted. At that time, he had already been in the medical facility for three days.
Initially, the serviceman was examined by a urologist, but tests did not reveal any infection. A traumatologist was then consulted, who suggested that the bladder issues might be related to an injury.
After speaking with the doctor, the soldier told his mother that he had allegedly been beaten periodically at the unit. The traumatologist called the police, and the serviceman subsequently filed a statement.
Later, during a video call, Yerkebulan Dossymbet told his mother that he had been beaten by a senior sergeant and two other sergeants. The young man's relatives demanded a thorough investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident.
The press service of the regional command "Batys" of the National Guard confirmed that the investigation is being conducted by the Aktobe department of the Western Regional Military Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"All circumstances of the case are currently being established. Based on the results of a comprehensive and objective investigation, a corresponding legal assessment will be provided," the command stated.
Further details of the investigation have not been disclosed. No official conclusions regarding the guilt of the servicemen have been made at the time of publication.
