A court in Seoul has sentenced 20-year-old Kim So Yeon, dubbed the "most beautiful killer" by the media, to life in prison for poisoning men, according to infohub.kz.
During the trial, Kim claimed she only intended to sedate the victims and did not expect them to die, saying she acted to protect herself from sexual assault. However, the court found that she was aware the drugs could be lethal and concluded she had intent to kill.
After reviewing KakaoTalk messages and other evidence, the judge found no proof of sexual assault. Of the six victims, the court acquitted her of aggravated assault charges in one case.
The first-instance verdict is not final and can be appealed.
