Around 2 million people greeted the Spanish national football team in Madrid during a victory parade after winning the World Cup, reports infohub.kz.
According to the report, the team arrived in Madrid after the tournament. Players and coaches met King Felipe VI and other royals, and attended a reception with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
After official events, an open-top bus parade took place through Madrid's streets. The Spanish government delegation in Madrid said the number of fans participating reached two million.
The Spanish team defeated Argentina 1-0 in the 2026 World Cup final, held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Led by coach Luis de la Fuente, Spain won its second World Cup title, the first being in 2010 in South Africa.
