At Lake Batpakkol in the Akmola region, rescuers retrieved a man from the water who, while intoxicated, wandered into the reeds and could not get out, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as reported by infohub.kz.
The incident was reported to emergency services via 112. A man in a boat heard cries for help from the reeds and alerted rescuers.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the victim was a man born in 1990. "The man, while intoxicated, entered the reeds and could not get out on his own," the ministry said.
Rescuers quickly pulled him from the water, brought him to shore, and handed him over to an ambulance crew.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded that alcohol consumption near water can lead to tragic consequences. "Do not enter the water while intoxicated. Alcohol dulls alertness, slows reaction time, and significantly increases the risk of accidents on the water. Follow safety rules and enjoy your time near water responsibly," the ministry urged.
