The fourth solo Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland has broken box office records in North America, surpassing the $500 million mark in just seven days, reports infohub.kz.
The blockbuster 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' from Sony and Marvel continues to set records in global cinema. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film has earned over $508.8 million domestically (US and Canada) in its first week of release. This is the best result in film industry history, surpassing the previous record holder, 'Avengers: Endgame'.
On Thursday, the film added another $27 million to its haul, cementing its lead. Earlier, the film crossed the $1 billion mark worldwide in just six days since its premiere.
Tom Holland reprises the lead role, with the cast also including Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Bernthal. In the plot, Peter Parker tries to start a new life in a world where no one remembers his existence after Doctor Strange's spell.
