The US military has prepared new strike options against Iran, and they could involve the most powerful non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal — the GBU-43/B MOAB, known as the "mother of all bombs." The news was reported by infohub.kz, citing CNN.

Several US officials told the network that the military has drawn up new strike plans in case Donald Trump orders a resumption of military operations in Iran. In particular, the use of the "mother of all bombs" to target Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear sites is being considered.

The weapon in question is the GBU-43/B MOAB, the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US military arsenal. Sources believe its use would signal a major escalation of the conflict. At the same time, officials familiar with the situation doubt its effectiveness in achieving any strategic goals in the Middle East.

The network adds that over the past few weeks, White House advisers have held meetings to discuss various options for action against Iran. Although Trump has publicly stated he will not take new action before the midterm elections, several advisers have privately said they do not know whether that statement is final or could change before election day.

Recall that President Donald Trump said the US would not strike Iran at least until November 3, when the country holds its midterm elections. Earlier, the American leader said the conflict with Iran would be resolved soon, as the country no longer poses a nuclear threat to the US.
