The incident occurred on July 16. Witnesses noticed the torn state flag flying, reports the website infohub.kz, citing Orda.kz.

Footage of the damaged state symbol has been posted on social media. The flag measures 24 meters in length and 12 meters in width.

A press service representative for the Ust-Kamenogorsk akimat told the editorial team: "The crew has already been dispatched for replacement. They will change it promptly."

This is not the first time the flag on the mountain has been torn by strong gusts of wind. As of 2014, the cost of one such flag exceeded one million tenge. Due to strong winds, the fabric wears out quickly, requiring several replacements a year. For example, in 2017, more than five million tenge was spent on replacing this flag.

Earlier, Kazakh patriots were allowed to hang the flag on balconies.
