Severe weather hit Pavlodar region on July 19, 2026, prompting authorities in Ekibastuz to plan a local natural state of emergency, reports infohub.kz.
The draft decision declaring a local natural emergency has been published on the Open NPA portal.
"Due to the hydrometeorological event that occurred on July 19, 2026, the draft regulation declares a local natural emergency on the territory of the city of Ekibastuz," the draft document states.
The state of emergency is being introduced to address the aftermath of the local natural disaster in Ekibastuz, according to the draft.
Earlier on July 19, it was reported that severe weather had hit Pavlodar region, including heavy rain, hail, lightning, and strong winds in Pavlodar city. There were injuries reported in the region.
