In Pavlodar region, criminal police officers disrupted a group suspected of livestock theft. During a special operation in Maysky District, two alleged participants were detained, and evidence was found in their car. Investigators are now checking if the detainees are linked to similar crimes in the area, according to infohub.kz.
Officers from the Pavlodar Regional Criminal Police conducted the operation and stopped a vehicle. Inside, they found and seized evidence relevant to the criminal investigation, the Kazakh Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
Azat Kusainov, acting head of the criminal police department in Pavlodar region, said the operation identified two suspects in livestock theft totaling more than 1 million tenge. A criminal case has been opened. One suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Police are investigating their possible involvement in other similar crimes.
Preliminary estimates put the damage from the alleged crimes at over 1 million tenge. A criminal case has been opened, and investigative and operational search activities continue. Law enforcement is also checking the detainees for ties to other similar crimes in the region.
Police reminded livestock owners to take precautions when grazing animals and to pay special attention to their safety. Residents were urged to immediately report any suspicious activity that could indicate preparation or commission of such crimes.
