On Friday, August 14, a significant part of Kazakhstan will be at the mercy of severe weather: forecasters predict thunderstorms, squally winds, and abnormal heat up to +41°C, reports infohub.kz.

According to the storm warning from RSE "Kazhydromet", thunderstorms, hail, squalls, and extremely high temperatures are expected in various regions of the country. The hottest weather will be in the Kyzylorda region, where daytime temperatures may rise to +40…+41°C, and extreme fire danger will persist.

The Zhambyl region will also experience intense heat — up to +38…+40°C. In mountainous areas, brief rains with thunderstorms are expected, and winds will strengthen to 15-20 meters per second.

In the Almaty region, daytime temperatures will reach +35…+39°C. In the south and mountains, precipitation and thunderstorms are possible, while in the east, wind gusts will reach 15-20 meters per second. In Almaty, temperatures are expected to be +35…+37°C, and in Konayev — up to +37…+39°C. In the mountainous areas of Ile Alatau, brief rains and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.

In the south, east, and center of the Aktobe region, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecast. Wind gusts may reach 15-20 meters per second, and temperatures will rise to +35…+36°C.

Difficult weather is also expected in the Kostanay region: in the west, north, and southwest, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are possible during the day, with winds strengthening to 15-20 meters per second.

In the East Kazakhstan region, daytime temperatures will be +35…+38°C. In the south, rain and thunderstorms are expected, while in the north, fog is possible at night and in the morning.

In the Abai region, rain, thunderstorms, and hail are forecast. Daytime temperatures will rise to +35…+38°C, with wind gusts in the south and west reaching 15-20 meters per second.

In the West Kazakhstan region, light rain and thunderstorms are expected. During the day, winds will strengthen to 15-20 meters per second, and extreme fire danger will persist.

In the Mangystau region, rain, thunderstorms, and hail are also possible. In the south, the air will warm up to +38°C, and strong wind gusts are expected in the western and central parts of the region.

In the Karaganda region, intense heat up to +35…+37°C is forecast. In the north and east, wind gusts will reach 15-20 meters per second.

In the Ulytau region, daytime temperatures will be +35…+37°C. In the east of the region, winds with gusts up to 15-18 meters per second are expected.

In the Turkistan region, rain with thunderstorms is possible in mountainous areas. During the day, in the west, north, and mountains, winds will strengthen to 15-20 meters per second.

In the Zhetisu region, brief rains and thunderstorms are also expected in the mountains. Daytime temperatures will be +35…+39°C, and in Taldykorgan — up to +37…+39°C.

In the Atyrau region, no precipitation is indicated in the forecast, but extreme fire danger persists across the region.

In the Akmola region, light rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west, south, and east during the day. Temperatures will rise to +35°C, with wind gusts of 15-20 meters per second.

In the North Kazakhstan region, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecast in the west. Fog is possible at night and in the morning, and winds will strengthen to 15-20 meters per second during the day.

Kazhydromet also warns of high and extreme fire danger in several regions of the country.
