Kazakhstan has issued a storm warning for August 27. According to Kazhydromet forecasts, most of the country will see dry weather, but northern, northwestern, and eastern regions are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms. Locally, heavy precipitation, hail, and squally winds are possible, reports infohub.kz.

The most challenging weather is forecast for the north of the republic. In the North Kazakhstan Region, rain and thunderstorms are expected, with heavy rain, hail, squalls, and dust storms in the west and north during the day. Wind gusts will reach 25 meters per second. In Petropavlovsk, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are also forecast.

In the Akmola Region, rain, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, and dust storms are possible during the day. Winds will strengthen to 15–20 meters per second, with gusts up to 25 meters per second in some places. In Kokshetau, rain with thunderstorms is expected.

In the Kostanay Region, rain and thunderstorms are forecast, with occasionally heavy rain in the north and west. Hail and squalls are possible during the day. In Kostanay, rain with thunderstorms is expected.

In the east of the country, rain with thunderstorms will pass through the East Kazakhstan Region at night, and rain and snow are possible in eastern and mountainous areas. Wind gusts will be 15–18 meters per second. Fog is expected locally at night and in the morning.

Rain and thunderstorms are also forecast in the north of the Aktobe Region, as well as in the Mangystau and West Kazakhstan regions. In some areas, winds will strengthen to 15–20 meters per second.

In the Almaty Region, wind gusts up to 18 meters per second are expected in the east during the day, and up to 20 meters per second in Zhetysu. Fog is possible in the mountainous areas of Zhetysu at night and in the morning.

Additionally, in the Kyzylorda Region, a dust storm with wind gusts up to 20 meters per second is forecast during the day.

At the same time, extreme fire danger persists in several regions, including the Kyzylorda, Atyrau, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, and Aktobe regions, the Ulytau Region, and some areas of the Almaty, Zhetysu, Kostanay, Mangystau, Abai, and Karaganda regions.
