East Kazakhstan region is dealing with the aftermath of severe weather. Thunderstorms, squally winds, heavy rain, and hail in places caused local power outages, downed trees, and damaged power lines, according to infohub.kz.
The regional administration reported that the recovery efforts were personally overseen by the head of the region, Nurymbet Sak taganov.
The brunt of the storm hit Ust-Kamenogorsk. To eliminate the consequences, 270 people and 41 units of specialized equipment were deployed. Utility and emergency services worked to restore power, clear fallen trees from streets and courtyards, pump out rainwater, and clean storm drains.
The storm also affected the Glubokovsky district, where strong winds damaged power lines in several settlements. Emergency crews quickly began repairs, and most of the damage was fixed in the shortest possible time. Restoration work was also organized in the Ulansky district.
"The work to eliminate the consequences of the raging weather was organized promptly and was under the constant personal supervision of the regional head," the administration noted.
