A college student and his father in the West Kazakhstan Region have settled an alimony dispute amicably: the man will pay his son 40,000 tenge a month during his studies, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to the official Telegram channel of the West Kazakhstan Regional Courts, the Kaztalovsky District Court heard a claim brought by a son against his father for alimony during his period of study.
The plaintiff said he was enrolled full-time at a college and asked the court to order his father to pay alimony for the duration of his studies.
Before the case was heard on its merits, a conciliatory judge conducted a reconciliation procedure and explained to the parties the possibility of settling the dispute amicably.
As a result, the parties concluded a settlement agreement and submitted it to the court for approval.
Under the terms of the agreement, the father undertook to pay his son 40,000 tenge a month from September 25, 2026, to June 25, 2027. After the agreement was concluded, the plaintiff withdrew his claim.
The court approved the parties' agreement and terminated the proceedings, explaining the legal consequences to the parties.
The court's ruling has not entered into legal force.
