The head of the Ministry of Industry and Construction told a briefing at the cabinet how the housing market responded to the revision of sufficiency thresholds for withdrawing part of pension savings from the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund, reports infohub.kz.
Journalists asked Minister of Industry and Construction Ersayin Nagaspayev whether raising the sufficiency thresholds for withdrawing pension savings had affected the purchasing power of Kazakhstanis. "No," the minister replied briefly.
Overall, he said, the Ministry of Industry and Construction does not regulate commercial housing prices. "Nationally, a square meter of commercial housing costs around 617,000 tenge. As for social housing prices, the state's position is clear — we control prices, they will not increase. I will not give forecasts for price increases or decreases, but there are no prerequisites for that. On the contrary, activity usually increases in summer, and housing demand always rises," Ersayin Nagaspayev concluded.
