Popular photo shoots in sunflower fields near Astana have left trampled patches in the field. Capital photographer Dmitry Bronnikov showed what the location looks like after an influx of people wanting to take striking shots, reports infohub.kz.
The photographer shared the images on Instagram. They show crushed and damaged plants and paths trodden through the sunflowers. According to him, some visitors go deep into the plantings for the sake of beautiful shots, without thinking about the consequences.
“Shooting in sunflowers. Trample it yourself and let others do the same. In short, it was a sunflower field, but it was simply trampled flat. Of course, I understand, you want to take beautiful shots at sunset, beauty and cuteness. But why drive a tank into the field?” the photographer wrote.
He compared this attitude to nature with the habit of some film crews to leave a mess behind in studios. “There is a tendency among media groups not to clean up the studio after shooting. Ate, got up, and left. Just a thought. So now think about what lies behind the beautiful pictures. No love, no longing, no conscience,” Bronnikov added.
In the comments under the video, some Kazakhstanis noted that such behavior is not typical of all photographers. “Professional photographers would never do that, because they will likely come back to such places many times. It’s those who came once, took a shot, probably on a phone, left and forgot,” one commenter wrote.
Meanwhile, police are already fining car owners who leave their cars on the roadside for photo shoots in the field on the Astana-Shchuchinsk highway. Since the start of the blooming season, about 25 drivers have been held accountable for such violations.
