With the start of the sunflower blooming season in the Akmola Region, police are warning drivers about the serious consequences of stopping on the high-speed highway for striking photos. The picturesque fields along the Astana-Shchuchinsk road attract many motorists, but such stops are prohibited and dangerous, reports infohub.kz.

As noted by Yerbol Duysetai, acting commander of the 2nd platoon of the patrol police battalion of the Akmola Region Police Department, this section is a high-speed motorway where stopping vehicles is prohibited. All necessary road signs are installed here, including a "No Stopping" sign, and the corresponding road markings are painted.

Since the beginning of the sunflower blooming, patrol police officers have already brought about 25 drivers to administrative responsibility for ignoring the requirements of road signs.

Police remind that stopping on a high-speed highway poses a real threat to road safety. Even if a driver manages to leave when a patrol car appears, this does not exclude liability for the committed violation.
