In Uralsk, police have arrested a suspect in a robbery of a grocery store. About 100,000 tenge was stolen from the cash register, reports infohub.kz.

According to the portal Polisia.kz, a call was received on the "102" channel from the owner of a grocery store in Uralsk reporting a robbery. It was established that an unknown man, threatening with a knife, stole about 100,000 tenge from the cash register and fled. At the time of the attack, the store owner and his acquaintance were in the sales area. According to police footage, the attacker was wearing a mask made from a nylon stocking.

Police officers arriving at the scene conducted a series of operational search measures. Surveillance camera footage was reviewed, the suspect's route was established, and a search of the surrounding area was organized. During the search, police found a knife label, which helped narrow down the search direction. The area was divided into several sectors, where operational search activities continued.

While examining one of the areas, police officers noticed a man in the grass trying to hide. When they attempted to identify him, the suspect offered armed resistance and attacked the officers with a knife. Thanks to the professional, decisive, and coordinated actions of the police, the attacker was quickly neutralized and detained. No one was injured in the incident.

The detained individual is a 29-year-old man. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility. A pre-trial investigation into the robbery is underway. The suspect's possible involvement in other crimes is being checked.
