A Karaganda-based butter and margarine plant owned by Swiss company Ursem Holding AG brought its owner 3.7 billion tenge in net profit for 2025. This figure is 3.8% lower than the previous year, reports infohub.kz.

The Eurasian Foods enterprise, part of the holding of the same name, shows impressive revenue growth: over the year it increased by 41% to reach 57.5 billion tenge. The main source of income was the sale of finished products. However, at the same time, the cost of production rose by 44.7% (to 47 billion tenge), and selling expenses increased by 33% (to 2 billion tenge). In particular, transportation costs jumped to 1.3 billion tenge, likely due to delivery of goods.

The decline in profit in 2025 compared to the previous year is largely due to financial indicators. Financial income decreased by 880 million tenge, amounting to 282 million tenge, due to reduced government subsidies. Meanwhile, financial expenses increased by 32% to 2.9 billion tenge, mainly due to interest payments on loans.

The structure of the company's borrowed funds has undergone significant changes: long-term loans increased 3.6 times to reach 9 billion tenge, while short-term loans decreased by 6.6 billion tenge to 4.7 billion tenge.

It is worth recalling that Eurasian Foods Corporation is a holding that includes the Karaganda plant. In November 2000, 100% of the company's common shares were bought out by Swiss Ursem Holding AG. The enterprise produces margarine, spreads, and butter under the brands "Irtysh", "Zlatye Gory", and Eurasian Foods.

Earlier it was reported that at another enterprise of the holding, the Eurasian Milk plant in the North Kazakhstan region, the country's largest condensed milk production workshop was launched, after which the plant reached full capacity.
