In Sweden, a man armed with a sword attacked a school, injuring two teenagers and himself, according to the website infohub.kz.

The incident occurred at Brinellskolan school in the town of Fagersta after 2:00 p.m. local time (5:00 p.m. in Astana). An unknown individual burst into the school and wounded two teenagers, who sustained serious injuries.

Police detained the attacker, who was also injured. According to local media, he was shot in the leg by police. Eight schools in the area were temporarily closed, and a heightened alert was declared in the region. However, police later stated that there is currently no danger to the public.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson called the attack a serious incident and said he does not know what lies behind this act, but the police are working very intensively.

It is noted that students at Brinellskolan had just returned to their desks after the summer holidays.
