Authorities in Taldykorgan have shut down an illegal religious operation after city prosecutors uncovered violations at a public foundation and secured a court order stripping it of its license, infohub.kz reports.
According to the supervisory agency's official website, prosecutors monitoring compliance with religious-activity legislation found evidence of unlicensed religious teaching and breaches of residency registration rules.
"It was established that one of the public foundations was conducting religious education without the required license. In addition, eight citizens were living in the foundation's premises without registration at their place of residence or temporary stay. These individuals were held administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 492 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Kazakhstan (living without registration at one's place of residence or temporary stay)," the regional prosecutor's office said.
To halt the violations, the Taldykorgan prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit seeking to revoke the public foundation's license.
The court fully granted the prosecutor's claims. A representative of the foundation admitted the claims.
The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
