Police in Taldykorgan have detained a man after his wife filed a complaint alleging assault. A weapon was seized from the suspect, according to infohub.kz.
The police department of the Jetisu region said that on October 2, a female resident of Taldykorgan came to the police and stated that her husband had inflicted bodily injuries on her and threatened her.
"Police officers immediately arrived at the scene and detained the man. A pneumatic weapon was seized from him," law enforcement said.
A criminal case was opened in connection with the bodily injuries and threats. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
"After a medical examination, the woman and her child were placed in a crisis center, where they received the necessary assistance. The woman had not previously contacted the police," the police department said.
In a video shared by the police, a half-naked man can be seen chasing a woman in the courtyard of a private house.
