In Taldykorgan, an attempt to avoid administrative liability has landed a woman in criminal trouble after she submitted a forged medical certificate of pregnancy to a court, the website infohub.kz reports.

According to NUR.KZ, citing the prosecutor's office of the Zhetisu region, the submission of the fake medical document was uncovered by the Taldykorgan prosecutor's office during its review of the administrative case. The certificate was intended to exempt the woman from liability.

Investigators established that the woman, who had been driving a Hyundai Sonata while intoxicated, presented a pregnancy certificate from a private clinic during court proceedings.

However, a cross-check by the prosecutor's office found that she had never visited the medical facility, had not undergone any examination there, and had not been issued a pregnancy certificate.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the matter under Part 1 of Article 385 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (forgery of documents).

In addition, a court ruling imposed an administrative penalty on the woman consisting of a 15-day arrest and the deprivation of her right to drive for a period of 7 years.

The court ruling has entered into force. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
