The body-on-frame SUV Tank 500 with a new 3.0-liter diesel engine has entered the Australian market. The model produces 231 horsepower and consumes just 7.1 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers, according to infohub.kz.
GWM Australia has already received over a thousand pre-orders. Full sales are set to begin in September 2026.
The diesel version's specs are impressive: 231 hp (620 Nm), a 9-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, low-range gearing, and locking differentials for all three axles. Fuel consumption is 7.1 L/100 km, and the maximum tow capacity reaches 3,500 kg.
The SUV measures 5,078 mm in length, 1,934 mm in width, and 1,905 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The base version comes with a 78-liter fuel tank, while the top trim increases total fuel capacity to 131 liters.
In Australia, the model will be offered in Lux and Vanta trims, priced at 66,000 and 72,000 Australian dollars respectively (about 21.7 million and 23.6 million tenge).
The Lux trim includes a 14.6-inch multimedia screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Vanta version adds 19-inch black wheels, a three-row seven-seat cabin, Nappa seats with ventilation and massage for front passengers, a head-up display, and a panoramic roof.
In Kazakhstan, the diesel Tank 500 is not yet available. The official distributor offers the SUV with a 3.0-liter petrol V6 producing up to 354 hp, a 9-speed automatic, and all-wheel drive. Depending on the trim, five- and seven-seat versions are available, priced from 27.8 million to 33 million tenge.
