An unknown projectile struck a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Oman, according to infohub.kz.
The British Maritime Trade Operations Center (UKMTO) reported that the incident occurred 8 nautical miles northeast of Limah. "UKMTO received several reports from the tanker that it was struck by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. Authorities are investigating," the statement said.
The tanker's security officer reported that the crew abandoned the vessel in a lifeboat. No information on environmental consequences from the attack has been received.
