A conflict between passengers on a bus in Taraz escalated into a street fight — footage of the incident spread on social media, and regional police commented on the events, reports infohub.kz.
The video from the scene was published on the Telegram channel "Criminal Kazakhstan." The footage shows a man in a tracksuit punching and kicking a young man. A woman intervenes in the scuffle and stops the fight.
According to the post, the mother of one of the participants said it all started on the bus: her son was about to get off and asked a man standing in front of him whether he was getting off. The woman claims her son did not continue the conflict on the bus. However, after getting off, the man followed him, caught up, and began beating and kicking him.
The video was filmed by a woman who had witnessed the conflict on the bus. It is reported that the young man sought medical help at a trauma center after the incident.
A correspondent for NUR.KZ was told by the press service of the Police Department of Zhambyl Region that a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident under the Criminal Code article "Hooliganism."
"Investigative actions are currently being carried out to comprehensively, fully, and objectively establish all the circumstances of the incident. A corresponding procedural decision will be made based on the results," police said.
