In Taraz, the parents of 42-year-old Serik Kobesov prevented law enforcement officers from exhuming the body of their son, who died in a hunting accident. Officers arrived at the cemetery with equipment and shovels, but relatives blocked access to the grave, and the procedure did not take place, reports infohub.kz.

The tragic incident occurred last October. Serik went hunting with two relatives in Baizak district and never returned home.

Police investigated the case under the article "Causing death by negligence." A few months later, the proceedings were closed, and the shooter — the husband of the deceased's sister — was released under an amnesty. The mother and father did not object at the time.

"The car was parked on a slope, and when exiting, the door slammed and hit the buttstock, and at that moment there was an explosion, oh, a shot went off. As a result, the spleen and lungs were damaged. Blood entered the lung, and he suffocated. Well, he died instantly. We are strongly against the exhumation. So that he may rest in peace in the afterlife," said father Almurat Kobesov.

It turned out that the exhumation was sought by the deceased's wife. According to the parents, she is allegedly trying to take property from them.

"We gave her the car, and two apartments in Almaty. The older son lives and studies there, the younger one has lived with me since he was three, goes to school here. She agreed. But three days later, she began demanding the apartment in Taraz. She demanded it be transferred to her. She threatened that otherwise she would reopen the case — claiming it was premeditated murder," says mother Minash Smagambetova.

Incidentally, the daughter-in-law also believes it's all about money. She says at that time the family was dividing the business, and her husband wanted his share but died.

Moreover, the woman suspects that someone also tried to get rid of her. During the investigation, the same car caught fire at the scene. It contained the gun, evidence, and herself.

"If it had been an accident, this wouldn't be happening now. The autopsy would have been legally conducted. You understand, not only that, but not a single examination was carried out; there was an explosion during the situational examination. All evidence was destroyed, the car was blown up, I barely survived. And all this is greed; they had a business with the father," notes widow Maria Kobesova.

Police confirmed: the year-old case has been reopened. And the exhumation of the body is just part of the necessary investigative actions.

"In the case of causing death by negligence, the investigation continues. At the request of the victim's side, additional investigative actions are being carried out, including the exhumation of the body," emphasizes the head of the press service of the Police Department of Zhambyl region, Gulsara Mukhtarkulova.

However, law enforcement officers have not yet managed to dig up Serik Kobesov's body. His parents managed to challenge the exhumation and are now awaiting a repeat court decision.

It is known that cases of destruction of evidence and falsification of expertise are being investigated in parallel.
