Tauman Nazarbayev, the 21-year-old eldest son of Nursultan Nazarbayev and Asel Isabayeva, is preparing to marry in Astana, the website infohub.kz reports.
According to Ulysmedia.kz, the celebration is planned at The Ritz-Carlton, Astana. Tauman's bride is said to be the daughter of a former vice-minister of industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The official's surname is not disclosed.
Citing its sources, the website reports that heightened security measures have been put in place for the event. According to this information, the area around the hotel began to be cordoned off the day before.
Guests are expected to include figures from big business and politics, among them people who held influential positions during Nazarbayev's presidency.
Tauman Nazarbayev was born in 2005. His mother, Asel Isabayeva, is also known as Asel Kurmanbayeva.
The existence of Nursultan Nazarbayev's second family was not publicly reported for a long time. In 2023, Kazakhstan's first president himself revealed it in his memoirs, "My Life: From Dependence to Freedom."
According to Nazarbayev, he was married to Asel under Muslim customs. The family had two sons — Tauman in 2005 and Baiken in 2008.
