President of Spain's La Liga, Javier Tebas, has sharply criticized FIFA President Gianni Infantino, calling for him to step down, according to NUR.KZ citing Championat, as reported on infohub.kz.
Tebas believes Infantino should resign but does not expect that to happen soon. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, translated by Championat, he said: "I think his time is up. However, he enjoys the support of the system, the federations, so there's not much more to add, right? There is no opposition candidate, no one wants to run just to lose. It's a system, and it's rotten to the core. Infantino should not remain in power, but given the current situation, he won't leave. In the last few days, I've heard many people who oppose Infantino, who disagree with what he's doing. They talk about it, but they do nothing. I don't know what's worse — silence or complicity, because those who remain silent are fully aware of the damage they are causing to football."
