In the Karaganda region, a 13-year-old teenager performed a heroic act, saving the life of a four-year-old child. The incident occurred in early August at Lake Semizbuga in the Bukhar-Zhyrau district, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to Polisia.kz, the child was on an inflatable mattress when a strong wind flipped it over, and the toddler ended up in the water. Ninth-grader Nuraly Alkhan, who was nearby, did not lose his composure and immediately rushed to help, managing to pull the child out of the water.

The teenager's deed became known thanks to social media. The head of the police department of the Karaganda region, Negmet Ismagulov, invited Nuraly and his mother to a meeting to personally express his gratitude. "I learned about Nuraly's deed from social media and was sincerely impressed by his courage. At a critical moment, he did not panic and, risking himself, saved the life of a small child. Such an act deserves respect. I also want to thank the parents for raising a brave and responsive son," the police chief noted.

As a token of appreciation, Negmet Ismagulov presented the teenager's mother, Samal Abdrakhmanova, with a letter of gratitude. The woman is raising six children. "As a mother, of course, I was very worried about my son. When I found out that he had rushed to save a child, I was scared for him. But after it became known that the child was saved, I felt immense pride. I thank the leadership of the police department for recognizing my son's deed," said Samal Abdrakhmanova.

Nuraly himself says that at that moment he did not think about possible consequences, let alone a reward. According to him, he simply saw a child in danger and decided to help. "Everything happened unexpectedly. At first, the child was floating on an inflatable mattress, then due to the wind, the mattress flipped over and he ended up in the water. I immediately rushed to save him. I have five brothers and sisters, so at that moment I imagined my relatives in his place. I just wanted the child to stay alive. I didn't even think about any reward," Nuraly said.

For his courage and determination, Nuraly Alkhan was presented by the police chief with a wristwatch bearing the insignia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. His brothers and sisters also received gifts. Negmet Ismagulov wished the young hero success in his studies, good health, and a bright future, expressing confidence that his courage, compassion, and sense of responsibility would serve as the foundation for worthy deeds in the future.
