The weighted average dollar rate on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) fell by 1.83 tenge to 439.37 tenge on September 29, breaking below the 440 tenge mark for the first time since May 2024. The euro lost 2.26 tenge during the trading session, dropping to 499.08 tenge and also passing the 500 tenge threshold last seen in June 2024, according to infohub.kz.
Exchange offices in major cities have adjusted their rates. According to Kurs.kz at 15:30, in Astana the buying rate for cash dollars is 435 tenge and the selling rate is 442 tenge. In Almaty, buying ranges from 434 to 439 tenge, selling from 439.9 to 442 tenge. In Shymkent, buying ranges from 438.5 to 439 tenge, selling from 440.5 to 441.5 tenge.
For cash euros, exchange offices set the following rates: in Astana, buying at 495 tenge, selling at 505 tenge; in Almaty, buying from 493 to 501 tenge, selling from 501.8 to 510 tenge; in Shymkent, buying from 495 to 499 tenge, selling from 502 to 505 tenge.
