The dollar strengthened again at Kazakhstan's currency trading on October 2, 2026: the weighted average rate of the US currency on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) had added 5.46 tenge by 13:42, reaching 447.72 tenge, while exchange offices in major cities raised their prices by about 10 tenge over two days, according to infohub.kz.
Earlier, the national currency had managed to strengthen and break through the 440 tenge per dollar mark, a level last seen in May 2024. But a correction followed.
The final rate has not yet been set: official trading results are due by 17:00, so the figures may still be adjusted.
Exchange offices have also updated their cash dollar prices in major cities, according to data from Kurs.kz. In Astana, the buying rate is 444 tenge and the selling rate is 451 tenge. In Almaty, buying ranges from 443 to 448.6 tenge, and selling from 448.2 to 451 tenge. In Shymkent, buying ranges from 447 to 448 tenge, and selling from 449 to 450 tenge.
The euro is also rising on the exchange, though less sharply: up 3.87 tenge during the day, with its weighted average rate at the same time reaching 504.49 tenge. Exchange offices offer the following prices. In Astana, buying is 501 tenge, selling from 511 to 512 tenge. In Almaty, buying ranges from 497 to 505.5 tenge, selling from 505 to 510 tenge. In Shymkent, buying ranges from 500 to 504 tenge, selling from 504 to 510 tenge.
