Rescuers in the Almaty Region evacuated a tourist from Thailand by helicopter after he sustained injuries in the mountains. The incident occurred in the Left Talgar Gorge of the Talgar District — the man was unable to continue his route independently. Personnel from the Barys Republican Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Almaty Emergency Situations Department Rescue Service responded to the scene, reports the website infohub.kz.
The rescuers reached the victim in a remote mountainous area, assessed his condition, provided first aid, and prepared him for transport. Using specialized equipment, the tourist was moved to a zone accessible for air evacuation. A helicopter from the Kazaviaspas joint-stock company was deployed for the operation, transporting the victim to Boraldai Airport, where an ambulance crew was waiting. He was then hospitalized for further examination and treatment.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded that before heading into the mountains, one must consider physical fitness level, weather conditions, and route difficulty. Rescuers recommend informing relatives of your route in advance, and carrying communication devices, a supply of water, a first aid kit, and necessary equipment.
