Starting September 15, 2026, Thailand will reduce the visa-free stay for tourists from 60 to 30 days. This decision will affect citizens of 60 countries, according to infohub.kz.
As reported by RBC, the relevant decree has been published in the Royal Gazette. This cancels the previous 2024 decree that had extended the visa-free period to 60 days indefinitely.
According to TASS, the 30-day visa-free entry for tourism purposes will be available to citizens of 60 countries. Additionally, Thailand has approved a list of countries whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival. This list includes Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Serbia.
For travelers entering through land border checkpoints, the visa-free regime will be valid for no more than two entries per calendar year. An exception is made for citizens of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Tourists arriving on international flights will be able to enter without restrictions on the number of times.
Recall that back in May, it became known about Thailand's plans to reduce the visa-free stay to 30 days. The country's Foreign Ministry explained that this measure aims to minimize abuses by foreigners using loopholes for non-tourist purposes.
