Kazakhstan's third-ranked tennis player Timofey Skatov has ended his run at the ATP 250 clay-court tournament in Estoril, Portugal, reports infohub.kz.
The world No. 163, who entered the main draw as a lucky loser, faced Russia's Andrey Rublev — the world No. 14 and top seed — in the second round.
The match lasted just one hour and ended in a crushing defeat for Skatov, 1:6, 1:6. During the match, the Kazakh hit one ace, committed four double faults, and converted one of two break points.
Skatov has thus exited the Estoril tournament. Rublev will face France's Luca Van Assche in the quarterfinals.
