At the opening ceremony of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, the CEO of Freedom Holding Corp., Timur Turlov, said that Astana is becoming the world's AI capital for the coming days, and technology development has reached speeds where a small team or even one person can perform tasks of entire corporations, reports infohub.kz.
As an example of adapting to new realities, Turlov cited the successes of young Kazakh chess players who grew up with digital tools. He stressed that Kazakhstan is at the very center of the global trend thanks to the decisions of the country's leadership.
"This is one of those rare cases where the national agenda of our country and the decisions of its leadership not only react to global trends but help shape them. At Freedom, we share this vision. Together with NVIDIA and the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, we are helping to create AI laboratories in universities across the country, and we have also provided the educational system of Kazakhstan with 165,000 licenses for leading AI tools," he said.
The speaker shared internal company cases demonstrating that algorithms themselves are useless without the human factor: out of two teams of developers with the same access to neural networks, only those who completely restructured their workflows achieved maximum productivity gains (up to 90%).
"The conclusion is very simple: technology itself does not create value. People create it. Human potential combined with AI is stronger than AI alone. In a world where competition is no longer for natural resources but for talent, investment in youth is the most reliable investment any country or company can make," he said.
In conclusion, Timur Turlov urged young participants from different countries to use the competition not only to fight for medals but also to seek future partners and co-founders of new tech projects.
