Kostanay football club Tobol has been transferred to the management of private agroholding Olzha Agro, but state budget support for the team will continue, the website infohub.kz reports.
Aidos Duisenbiyev, an adviser to the company's general director, has officially taken charge of the club.
Holding CEO Alisher Khojanazarov said the decision to acquire the club was driven by personal interest in its development and a readiness to take part in its management. According to him, the new leadership will work on transparency of financial flows, effective management and team cohesion.
Nevertheless, state budget support for the club will continue. Bakytzhan Narymbetov, deputy akim of Kostanay Region, said Tobol received 21 billion tenge from the state budget in 2026, within established limits. The funds were allocated for team preparation, participation in Kazakhstan Premier League matches, infrastructure maintenance, logistics, meals, staff salaries and other basic expenses.
"Over the next five years, as the share of non-budget funds grows and measures to commercialize the club's activities are implemented, a phased reduction in the volume of state financing for the football club is envisaged," the deputy akim said.
