At the first session of the Qazaqstan Halq Keñesi, President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev said that some republican public associations exist only on paper, infohub.kz reports.
"I was told that a number of republican public associations exist only on paper and have only loud 'signboards,' while in fact they are 'Rog and Kopyta' offices. It is clear that such structures were created not to protect citizens' interests, but at best for careerist purposes. It even came to fraudulent schemes. This is unacceptable, so such facts are being handed over to law enforcement agencies," Qasym-Jomart Toqaev said.
The head of state added that a barrier must be put up against organizations created solely to tap state contracts.
"There are many consultative and advisory bodies in the country, but their work is often fragmented and their functions duplicate each other. The Halq Keñesi will need to ensure their coordination, bring together expert potential, and systematize all incoming proposals," Toqaev added.
