Talks between President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev and King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan were held at the head of state's residence, infohub.kz reports.

During the meeting, Toqaev described the official visit of King Abdullah II of Jordan to Kazakhstan as evidence of the strong bonds of friendship, mutual respect and solidarity between the two countries.

"Jordan is our time-tested and reliable partner in the Arab world. In recent years, our cooperation has gained new momentum. We highly value the strong political dialogue that has developed between us and is maintained at various levels. Last year became a special milestone in bilateral relations, as mutual high-level visits took place. The joint statement adopted following the talks, as well as the numerous documents signed by our ministries, agencies and business representatives, contributed to the further development of multifaceted cooperation," the president said.

Qasym-Jomart Toqaev stressed that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the practical implementation of the agreements reached in all areas of mutual interest. According to him, economic interaction remains one of the key drivers of Kazakh-Jordanian relations.

The president also noted significant potential for expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including by strengthening academic and scientific ties and increasing mutual tourist flows.

Toqaev separately highlighted the closeness of the two countries' approaches to addressing current issues on the international and regional agenda and praised the King of Jordan's contribution to strengthening friendly ties and bringing the peoples of the two states closer together.

"Under your far-sighted leadership, Jordan has gained broad international recognition as an important voice of reason and restraint, as well as a consistent supporter of peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond. In this regard, Kazakhstan highly values the Aqaba Process, which you launched more than ten years ago. It is a great honor for us to co-organize the first meeting in this format in Central Asia. The theme of the session — security in the field of artificial intelligence — is extremely relevant today. I am confident that the summit will make it possible to present the vision of the Central Asian region and give new impetus to our joint efforts to maintain peace and security," the president said.

King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein thanked Qasym-Jomart Toqaev for the warm welcome, noting that Kazakhstan and Jordan are bound by many years of relations and mutual respect, and a shared commitment to strengthening peace and stability.

"As you mentioned, the exchange of visits last year gave an important impetus to the development of bilateral relations. We intend to continue implementing the agreements reached and expanding cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, tourism, technology and defense," the King of Jordan said.

King Abdullah II expressed sincere gratitude to Qasym-Jomart Toqaev for the joint organization of a new round of meetings within the framework of the Aqaba Process. According to him, this serves as evidence of the two countries' shared commitment to addressing regional and global security challenges.

In this context, the King of Jordan confirmed his interest in expanding interaction with Kazakhstan in ensuring regional security, as well as in countering terrorism and extremism.
