Kazakh President Qasym-Jomart Toqaev met with Ilse Aigner, President of the Bavarian State Parliament (Landtag), during which the head of state noted the successful and productive nature of the previous day's talks with Germany's top leadership in Berlin, infohub.kz reports.
The Kazakh President praised Bavaria's contribution to strengthening multifaceted Kazakh-German relations.
"Bavaria plays an extremely important role in promoting trade and developing ties with Kazakhstan. For us, Germany is a special partner. We are convinced that Germany is Kazakhstan's strategic partner in Europe and beyond, as your influence, your role and your achievements extend far beyond Europe. You are the third-largest economy in the world," Qasym-Jomart Toqaev said.
The talks touched on interparliamentary cooperation and prospects for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.
Ilse Aigner thanked the head of state for taking the time to visit the Bavarian Landtag, highlighting the busy schedule of his visit.
According to the Landtag President, Bavaria is closely examining opportunities to strengthen trade, economic, transport and investment contacts with Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, the two sides confirmed their mutual interest in expanding substantive dialogue between Kazakhstan and Bavaria.
