President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev spoke at the Caspian Environmental Summit in Turkmenistan, where he urged participants to focus on several key areas to address the problems of the Caspian Sea. This was reported by infohub.kz.

During his speech, the head of state called for a coordinated scientific approach to the timely identification and elimination of environmental threats.

"The Caspian states possess a significant amount of data, scientific research, and observations. However, for greater efficiency, they must work as a unified system. In 2024, Kazakhstan established the Caspian Sea Research Institute. Its potential could be used together with scientific centers of all Caspian countries to conduct comprehensive research and develop common adaptation scenarios," the President of Kazakhstan noted.

Qasym-Jomart Toqaev also drew attention to the importance of introducing modern technologies into the management of the Caspian ecosystem.

"It is proposed to consider the possibility of creating a common digital platform for processing and analyzing data on the state of water resources, changes in the coastline, biodiversity, pollution, river runoff, and other key parameters. Satellite technologies, artificial intelligence, and modern forecasting systems will enable real-time monitoring, timely identification, and elimination of environmental risks. Such a platform could become a common digital foundation for the work of our scientists, relevant government agencies, and international organizations," Qasym-Jomart Toqaev believes.
