Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has made a working visit to Azerbaijan, where he will take part in the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The news was reported by infohub.kz.

At Baku airport, the head of state was greeted by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov.

The summit agenda includes discussions on security and confidence-building in Asia, the development of transport links, digitalization, and sustainable economic growth. The meeting is expected to adopt the Baku Declaration and a package of decisions on the further development of CICA. One anticipated decision is Laos joining the organization as a full member. The forum currently brings together 28 states.

The previous CICA summit was held in Astana on October 12–13, 2022, under Tokayev's chairmanship. At that time, the countries launched the process of transforming the forum into a full-fledged regional international organization.
