President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent condolences to the family and close ones of Khalyk Kaharmany Ivan Gapich over his passing, reports infohub.kz.
In his telegram, the head of state noted that Ivan Gapich volunteered for the front and served as a signalman throughout the war. After returning, he worked in the prosecutor's office for many years.
“A man of high moral principles and a true professional, he earned well-deserved authority and respect among colleagues and in society. Ivan Stepanovich's life path has become a worthy example of constructive patriotism, loyalty to duty and oath, and firm commitment to the ideals of justice. The bright memory of Ivan Stepanovich will forever remain in our hearts,” the telegram reads.
Ivan Gapich took part in the liberation of Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Ukraine. In the post-war years, he served in the prosecutor's office in several regions of Kazakhstan. In 2023, he was awarded the title of Khalyk Kaharmany.
