President of Kazakhstan Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to King Felipe VI of Spain on the national team's victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and winning the title for the second time, reports infohub.kz.

In the telegram, the head of state praised the high level of skill, cohesive teamwork, and determination to win that earned the admiration of millions of fans. He emphasized that Spain's advanced experience in football can serve as a model for other countries. The president also mentioned the opening this year of an Atlético Madrid academy in Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that this initiative will give a powerful boost to friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the peoples, as well as develop youth exchanges. Tokayev wished the king success in his constructive endeavors and the friendly Spanish people well-being and prosperity.
