President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a congratulatory telegram to People's Writer of Kazakhstan Valery Mikhailov on his 80th birthday, reports infohub.kz.
The head of state noted that natural talent and rare diligence have been the foundation of the celebrant's long and successful creative career. For many years, Valery Mikhailov devoted himself to fruitful work at the country's leading print media, heading the newspaper "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" and the magazine "Prostor". As the President emphasized, a person of high moral qualities and firm life principles, he has earned the sincere respect of colleagues and society as a whole.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also noted that Valery Mikhailov's works enjoy well-deserved interest among readers of several generations and have already become an integral part of the country's literary heritage.
In addition, the President signed a decree awarding the writer the Order of Barys, First Class, for his special contribution to the development of national literature.
Valery Mikhailov is a poet, writer, publicist, and author of the documentary novel "Chronicle of the Great Dzhut".
