During his visit to Germany, President of Kazakhstan Qasym-Jomart Toqaev held talks with the leadership of the German railway group Deutsche Bahn (DB). The talks focused on the modernization of Kazakhstan's railways, supplies of domestic products to the Federal Republic of Germany and the expansion of the Middle Corridor (the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, TITR), infohub.kz reports.
The head of state praised Deutsche Bahn's contribution to the transformation of the republic's transport sector. In particular, this concerns a joint project between DB Engineering & Consulting and Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of passenger transportation in Kazakhstan.
In addition, the president stressed the importance of integrating Kazakh manufacturers into the global supply chain of the German giant. To this end, domestic enterprises will need to obtain the relevant certification under the standards of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Jan Grote, Director of Procurement at Deutsche Bahn AG, thanked Qasym-Jomart Toqaev for his high assessment of the company's work in Kazakhstan and confirmed its readiness to expand the partnership.
Special attention at the meeting was given to freight transportation, with the participation of Andreas Luebs, head of DB Cargo Eurasia GmbH. Kazakhstan and DB Cargo Eurasia will continue to increase container traffic, focusing primarily on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR / Middle Corridor), which is becoming the main link between Asia and Europe.
At the end of the talks, the parties confirmed their intention to develop long-term, systemic cooperation across the entire range of the logistics sector.
